I have seen a few others do a sort of intro post for any ICLW'ers stopping by so thought I'd do the same!
Husband(big G) and I have been ttc since February 09, we found out after 9 months that we were dealing with severe MFI and ended up being put on a waiting list for IVF/ICSI (we were lucky enough to get a government funded cycle-we're in New Zealand, the waiting list can be up to 20 months though!)
We've just gone through our first IVF antagonist cycle this month, I ended up having 20 eggs removed and because of this they said they would freeze and embryos we got to reduce the risk of OHSS for me.
We ended up having 6 fertilise, but only 2 went on to become 8 cell embryos which are now frozen and waiting for us until the end of January!
I never thought I'd be here, never thought we'd be infertile, but I have to say some positives have been big G and I becoming way closer (sometimes too close if you know what I mean, most fertile couples don't have the need to discuss all manner of bodily fluids, nor do they need to help their husbands get in the mood for a 'special' moment with the specimen jar...) but seriously, I think if you make it through infertility together, you can make it through most other things that are thrown your way!
And also I have met the most amazing women along the way, different ages and different walks of life, but all with the common heartache of having trouble conceiving. I have shared the most intimate things with these women , we have laughed, cried, and celebrated together, and I have never met most of them! They have kept me sane and I'm so grateful.
ICLW is an awesome idea and I look forward to reading and sharing others' blogs!
Sorry about the OHSS! I hope those embabies thaw perfectly and move on in and become sweet baby giraffes.
