Trigger time...

After only 6 days of Gonal F injections(188iu) we had our second scan on Saturday 4th,which showed quite a bit happening in there. Our specialist didn't give an exact amount (I've learned that if you want to know how many follicles you have growing you need to bring a pen and paper and be a speed writer-not easy with dildo cam prodding around in there) He calls out the size of the follicles to the nurse who records them- big G reckoned there was around 7-8 decent sized ones each side. the specialist said the scan 'looked fantastic' anyway so we felt pretty good. we were doing morning Cetrotide injections now too and were told our trigger injection would most likely be Sunday.

We were phoned up on Sunday afternoon-after waiting around all day for the phonecall we had decided to do a dash to the supermarket and of course we got the phone call in the middle of Pak'n Save, with no pen to write down our instructions so big G did a mad dash to the check out and I found a crumpled old envelope to write our important injection instructions while leaning on a rail in the freezer section. we were to do the injection at 9pm that night, egg collection was to be at 9am on the Tuesday morning. No food for 6 hours beforehand and no drinks for 2 hours.

Unfortunately I also had a ejaculation related question to ask the nurse (as you do) and had to resort to careful omission of  words that weren't appropriate to mention in the freezer aisle of the supermarket.
"My husband was told to do....something....every day....should he keep doing....something...up until....the big day?" Luckily the nurse was onto it and I didn't have to elaborate any further!

Trigger injection was a breeze and we were getting pretty excited by this point. It's hard not to feel optimistic and I felt that we had a good amount of eggs so was feeling kay about egg collection.
I've been known to have a really high tolerance to pain (this has been discovered through various injuries over the years where some docters have been amazed I haven't been in more pain from them) So I wasn't at all worried about the actual egg collection-where they insert a needle through the vaginal wall and into your ovaries and suck the fluid and any eggs out of the follicles,in fact I was more terrified of having a line inserted into my arm to administer pain relief, the old needlephobia coming up again.
