Okay fertilisation update...once again I decided to dash out while I was waiting for the all important phone call-this time to the mail box (which is a wee bit of a hike!) So as soon as we had finished the conversation I promptly forgot everything she had said except for 'you have a beautiful 4 cell'.
Anyway I phoned back and asked if they could email the results and I'll just copy it pretty much word for word rather than trying to get all fancy pants and putting it into my own words...
Today (day 2) you have the following:
1x beautiful 4 cell
2x nice 4 cell with some fragmentation
1 x nice 5 cell
1x 6 cell with some fragmentation and uneven cell sizes
1x 2 cell with both cells affected by multinucleate, which gives substantially lower implantation potential and this embryo will only be frozen if it develops into a good quality blastocyst by day5 or day6.
Tomorrow (day 3) we will score all embryos again and good quality 8 cell embryos will be frozen.other embryos will be cultured on to day5 or day6 if good quality blastocyst.
So that's the email and I am SO RELIEVED. I know it's early days but I was so scared we wouldn't have any good ones today. the lovely woman I spoke to from the lab said they would phone me on Day 6, or 'if I want to I can phone the clinic for updates before then'. Um hell yeah I'll be phoning you for updates! I wanna know whats happening to my potential baby giraffes!
That is great! Must be a nice relief to know there are couple of good ones in there!

Great results hon! As I said, this pregnancy is from a day 3 8-cell (also a 'beautiful' 4-cell on day 2) and my frostie is from a 2-cell on day 2 that was a slow starter. What person in their right mind could wait until day 6 for the next update!! Keeping everything crossed for some good news today!
